Emine Göğüş Culinary Museum
The Emine Göğüş Culinary Museum, built with the goal of presenting Gaziantep Cuisine, both describes the cuisine of earlier periods and exhibits various kitchen equipment’s in special display windows.
The first kitchen museum of our country is located in the historical Göğüş Mansion which is near the outskirts of Gaziantep Castle, an area famous for its narrow streets. This museum illustrates, with traditionally dressed mannequins, how to cook and prepare “Yuvalama”a traditional bayram food-, mıra -a traditional coffee- and bastık and sucuk (a traditional kind of sweet eaten around a traditional stove called “Tandır” on cold winter nights), and similar local specialties.
